P1/2
We have been busy making repeating patterns using a range of different resources to show our understanding.
We had a great ‘Autumn Fun Week’ and enjoyed playing outdoors and making our apple donuts and s’mores. We took part in Autumn rhymes and songs and enjoyed our dress up day, posing in our great costumes complete with spooky expressions!
We have been developing our understanding of number by making sets and working on number sequence.
We have been continuing to enjoy our outdoor play sessions including making flags for different countries which we used to decorate our sandcastles.
It was great to see our P.1 and 2s enjoying their first Food Friday of a selection of healthy fruit!
We have been playing high frequency word splat and ‘Help a Hedgehog’ on the interactive whiteboard. We have also been using these words to make and read sentences.
We have been thinking about different patterns and designs and enjoyed taking our glass beads for a walk.
Both Primary 1 and 2 showed their understanding during our outdoor learning sessions in Numeracy.
More sunshine this week gave us the opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy having fun learning together, using our imaginations and practising skills! The children built Stefan’s house and brought some of our play ice cream over to enjoy eating there.
Our ice-cream role play outdoor area has been great fun this week!
Primary One have also been getting lots of opportunities to count
Primary One have been practising their fine motor and cutting skills.
Our Colour topic gave us the opportunity to experiment with colour mixing and interactive colouring in on the whiteboard. We read stories about Elmer the patchwork elephant and ‘Dogs Colourful Day’, by Emma Dodd. We were also thinking about rainbows and were experimenting by making our own rainbows,
Our first task in Numeracy gave us the opportunity to match and sort lots of different materials using our own ideas and talk about our thinking.
We even used a newspaper tree diagram to sort our names in different ways.
We have enjoyed thinking about the parts of the body which we made from play dough and loose parts.
We have spent some time thinking about and decorating our names to make them special.
All the children have settled in really well, making new friends and enjoying working and playing together.
We are looking forward to more fun in learning with last year’s Primary One children now they are big Primary Twos!
We welcome the new Primary One children to the Moy Regional school family and wish them every happiness and success!
